Sir Paul McCartney drawn into phone hacking scandal
Sir Paul McCartney is to contact police after being informed that he could potentially have been a victim of phone hacking.
If true, then it won't come as a surprise to many people in the music industry, given that he is one of the most famous musicians the world has ever known.
The Beatles superstar told reporters in Cincinnati that as soon as his US tour was over he'd be speaking to the authorities about these allegations.
He said: "I’ll tell you that when I go back after this tour I’m going to talk to the police because I apparently have been hacked."
"I don’t know much about it, but I do think it’s a horrendous violation of privacy, and I think it's been going on for a long time and more people than we've heard about knew about it."
The Fab Four legend's ex-wife Heather Mills recently told the BBC that a senior member of the Mirror Group admitted that her personal voicemails to McCartney had been hacked.
The phone hacking scandal at the now defunct News of the World newspaper has attracted worldwide attention.
