Slayer Announce New Drummer to Replace Dave Lombardo
Lombardo was fired from the thrash metal quartet in February 2013 following a contractual dispute marking the third time he has left the band since 1981.
Bostaph is a familiar name to Slayer and has been on hand to step into the breach a number of times in the past. He first replaced Lombardo in 1992 and stayed with the group for the majority of the 1990's and early 2000's.
During this time he was involved in four studio albums including Divine Intervention, Undisputed Attitude, Diabolus in Musica and God Hates Us All.
"We spent a very intense ten years of our lives together, had a lot of fun, made a lot of great music, so for me, this feels like coming home," Bostaph explained in a statement.
Slayer are still coming to terms with the loss of founding member, Jeff Hanneman, who died in May due to liver failure, but they are still planning on completing their touring schedule.
The band have an extensive European tour over the summer months as well as an appearance at Bloodstock Open Air festival in Derby on August 11th.
