Solos and riffs prevalent in fresh Darkness LP, says member

A The Darkness member has been chatting about the group's fresh LP.
Great deals on musical instruments
Plenty of quality solos as well as riffs have made their way of onto the fresh LP from The Darkness, it seems.

In an interview with the Gibson website, guitar player Dan Hawkins from the I Believe In A Thing Called Love group has said: "There was a conscious effort to cram as many great riffs and solos in as possible, while still fitting the songs."

The music instrument player said that this was a result of the LP having a lot of rehearsal room-based development prior to its recording.

"On Hot Cakes [the fresh LP], two or three songs are pretty much the live takes from rehearsal sessions," he explained.

He said this was a preferable way of doing things compared to the experience on previous record, One Way Ticket To Hell… And Back, which saw the band rarely simultaneously share a room together.

A band imagines live performance when performing simultaneously as a group, he suggested, adding "That makes you realise that every riff, every fill, every solo, needs to be good and make sense."

The Darkness released the Christmas song Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End) back in 2003.
