‘Somebody that I used to know's’ Glee moment
Highlighting the plot into which the song was woven, he said: “I thought it was a good storyline and quite clever to attach [the track] to estranged brothers like that" (as Glee's plot did).
On the show, the track - Somebody That I Used to Know - was given the setting of a dimly lit auditorium environment and sung on a stage that appeared to feature a keyboard player, acoustic guitar player and some drums.
According to NME, Gotye also said that to begin with he had his doubts when it came to the fit between the “mainstream” Glee and his material, before accepting the idea of its appearance on the show.
Somebody That I Used to Know appears on Gotye's LP Making Mirrors, alongside tracks such as Save Me and In Your Light. It was on top of the UK singles chart earlier this year.
