Special Eddie Cochran tribute planned at theatre show
The life of legendary guitar player Eddie Cochran is to be remembered at the Bristol Hippodrome tonight (April 17th 2010).
Today marks the 50th anniversary of his death at the age of 21 in a car accident.
He had already recorded songs such as C'Mon Everybody, Summertime Blues and Three Steps to Heaven.
To celebrate his life, a special segment has been arranged for the finale of rock'n'roll musical Dreamboats and Petticoats.
Bill Kenwright, whose production company Bill Kenwright Ltd is behind the show, told Guitarist magazine that the tribute is richly deserved.
"In my mind, Eddie Cochran was one of the five greatest rock'n'roll influences of all time," he said.
Dreamboats and Petticoats is also currently being performed at the London Playhouse, where a similar tribute will take place.
Earlier this week (April 14th 2010), another tribute night to guitar player took place at the Maloe Melo venue in Amsterdam.Posted on 17 Apr 2010 09:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
