Special guitars go under the hammer
On September 22nd at the Sound and Vision Guitar Auction in London a special-edition Fender Stratocaster owned and donated by The Shadows' lead guitarist Hank Marvin and a Gibson SG guitar designed by well known sculptor and wood carver Doug Rowell both went up for sale.
All proceeds from the sale, which also saw a guitar lesson with Newton Faulkner being sold, went to Cancer Research.
Bids for each of the guitars started at above the Â£1,000 mark, with the Fender opening at a whopping Â£3,000.
The music lesson started at Â£300.
The auction event, which also included live entertainment was invite only, however the public were free to submit bids by email if they wanted to bag one of the pieces of stunning music memorabilia.
Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity and helps thousands of people each year.
