Stars decorate Fender Stratocasters for charity auction
A host of celebrities have decorated Fender Stratocasters that are to be auctioned off for charity.
Slash, Gene Simmons and Jack Johnson were among the musicians to give up their time to help the Little Kids Rock initiative, which aims to provide free musical instruments to children in US schools.
Legendary comic book writer Stan Lee and television satirist Stephen Colbert also decorated a Fender Stratocaster each for the cause.
Simmons said the charity effort is one that is close to his heart.
"If it weren't for music and good teachers I'd be on the streets doing bad stuff," said the Kiss star.
"This is the stuff that is going to save you and make you become successful."
Earlier this month, the Fender Stratocaster played by Alex Turner in the Arctic Monkeys's I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor video was auctioned off for £4,600 - money that went towards Oxfam's aid efforts in Haiti.
