Status Quo to re-release In The Army Now
Status Quo have announced that they are to re-release their track In The Army Now in a bid to raise funds for British troops.
The electric guitar band are to donate all the profits from the £3.99 song to two charities, the British Forces Foundation and Help for Heroes.
Originally released in 1986 and becoming one of the biggest-selling records of the decade, the song has been given a lyrical update and band members Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt have picked up their electric guitars again to re-record the track and bring it up to date.
Rossi said: "We want people to celebrate what they do, say thank you and also support these vital charities."
Status Quo fans who wish to hear them play their electric guitars live in 2010 will have to head to the continent as they are only scheduled to perform in Germany, Holland, France and Belgium before the end of the year.
