Steinberg have launched the second installment to their Cubasis series, Cubasis 2. For those who want to have all the extensive qualties of a professional DAW stored on their IPad, Cubasis has long stood as a popular choice.

Cubasis 2 adds real-time time stretching through zplane's elastique 3 algorithm, meaning the tempo of seperate audio tracks can now be matched. Another additional feature is the pitchshifter. This conveniently keeps everything in key, whilst the channel strip adds a cut filter, compressor, noise gate and tape/tube saturator to each channel.

The perfect companion to those who want to indulge in a multitude of different effects and explore a number of editing efforts, Cubasis 2 offers a vast array of opportunities to model and create your own unique sound. Capable of creating DJ-style breaks, tape stops, stutters and filter effect Cubasis also features a multitude of new sounds from the Micrologue virtual analogue synth and MicroSonic instrument.

Steinbergs Product Planning Manager Lars Slowak said "After releasing over a dozen 'smaller' updates to the first version of Cubasis, we now chose to give this release a major version increment due to the many new, full-blown features that this iteration has to offer. It's certainly also worth mentioning the effort we invested in tweaking the overall app so as to make it even more powerful and intuitive."

Cubasis 2 is available now and is full compatible with iOS 10
