Steve Lukather 'played Les Paul with George Harrison'
Electric guitar player Steve Lukather has explained how he played a duet on Les Pauls with a Beatles legend.
He explained that he has "tremendous history" with the guitar, also using the instrument in the recording of Michael Jackson's Thriller album.
Lukather added he had a central role in the recording of many of the tracks that featured on the LP.
"Beat It was Jeff Porcaro and me, with Eddie Van Halen playing the solo. I played bass, all the rhythm guitar parts, and all the riff parts," he explained.
Despite his wide experience in the music industry, the star said he is constantly learning new things about how to play the electric guitar, taking tips from other players of the instrument.
Lukather is set to embark on a tour of Europe in early 2011, playing shows in countries including Sweden, Finland, Italy, the Czech Republic and Austria.
The UK leg of the tour will see him perform in Leamington Spa, Manchester and Holmfirth during March.
