Musical icon Stevie Wonder has become one of the first people to be given a chance to try out the new Korg Kronos music workstation.

The star had a go on the piece of musical equipment during the recent NAMM conference in California, drawing crowds to the Korg stand at the music industry event.

Pictures of Wonder taking a turn on the Kronos music workstation have been posted by the musical instrument manufacturer on Twitter, while an image of the pianist playing the Korg Wavedrum Oriental has also been put online.

The Kronos music workstation offers its owners nine sound engines, each with the finest sound-creation technologies that are available.

A number of different models of the musical equipment have been produced, with consumers able to purchase versions with either 61, 73 or 88 keys.

It makes use of several signature sounds that have been created with the help of top musicians, while an expanded drum track is also included.

"Kronos is more than a new instrument. It is a milestone in synthesis and workstation evolution - one that embodies fresh ideas and breakthrough technologies," said a statement from Korg.
