Stolen violin recovered
Catrin Win Morgan was minding her own business as she relaxed on a journey from Waterloo to Putney when her £25,000 Stradivarius – an imitation made by Frederic Chaudière – stolen.
A man was caught on CCTV snatching her instrument as he got off Whitton station.
The 30-year-old was distraught at the theft of her most treasured possession as she had invested eight long years looking for the perfect violin.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, she said she was extremely grateful for everyone involved in the safe return of the musical instrument.
"After it went missing, I haven't had anything to play on so I have had to rely on help from fellow musicians and friends," Ms Morgan went on to say.
"The past couple of weeks have felt almost like an out-of-body experience, I'm just looking forward to playing again and not having this huge cloud over me."
The instrument was handed in to staff at Hounslow station by a member of the public.
