SuperHeavy super group to release new album in September
SuperHeavy, the aptly named super group, have announced that they will release their debut studio album in September 2011.
The group comprises singer Mick Jagger from the Rolling Stones, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics, Indian composer A.R. Rahman and Damian Marley.
Their first song will be called Miracle Worker. The album, which is being co-produced by Jagger and Stewart, has seen all of the band members bring their own music instruments and ideas into the studio.
As a reflection of their global scope, they have recorded in a number of countries across the world, including India, France and Cyprus.
Both Jagger and Stewart, who last worked together on the Alfie movie soundtrack in 2004, were instrumental in bringing the band together.
They had wondered what kind of music would be produced if musicians from different genres and countries came together.
The name SuperHeavy was inspired by Muhammad Ali, one of the greatest boxers and sports personalities of all time.
Fans of The Rolling Stones will be in for surprise when the album comes out as it will feature Mick Jagger singing in Urdu.
