Survey reveals favoured music instruments
In either case the question of which instrument to go for might become important.
A 1,724-strong sample of respondents to a recent YouGov poll were given a similar query to answer, presented with a line-up of instruments out of which they were requested to pick the instrument they would "most like to be able to play well".
The YouGov website has reported this, alongside a full list of the poll's results.
The findings suggest that some instruments are less popular than others in this regard, with zero per cent of votes going to the xylophone, the tuba and the oboe.
But 36 per cent picked out the piano – the number one choice. The instrument is played by music stars such as Elton John and Regina Spektor.
And 23 per cent went for guitars – the instruments that famously come in the form of electric guitars and acoustic guitars.
Among other results, three per cent opted for the violin, six per cent for the saxophone and five per cent for the drums.
