TC Helicon vocal processing pedals reviewed
Two pedals within TC Helicon's VoiceTone range, the VoiceTone Double and the VoiceTone Harmony G have been reviewed in this months Performing Musician Magazine.
The VoiceTone Double has essentially been designed to replicate the effect of studio-style double tracking to add that extra bit of thickness to a live vocal.
The VoiceTone Double can actually create up to four humanized overdubs from your voice.
With natural and effected doubling available, this unit really does allow your live vocals to carry a more produced and professional studio sound on the stage.
10 preset style banks and 3 patches within each means that youre ready to change your vocal harmonies effect over the course of a whole set.
Performing Musician were quick to spot the versatility of the VoiceTone Double, "from subtle thickening to overtly 'effected'" doubling available.
With so much scope for creativity available, this is definitely a pedal that it's worth playing around with before taking to the stage.
The VoiceTone Harmony G is a harmonizer that doesn't require the programming of relevant keys or scales to produce the correct musical intervals.
This effects pedal cleverly creates correct vocal harmony parts derived from the chords played on a guitar connected to the pedal.
When Performing Musician tested the Harmony G, they commented that the pedal "proves pretty foolproof in operation too, faithfully tracking chord changes and supplying the most suitable harmony parts."
Performing Musician commented that the TC Helicon pedals were "attractively presented and competitively priced as usual, these pedals are useful additions to any singers armoury."
"With one beefing up vocals the other adds easily generated, accurate and authentic harmonies."
If you're looking to add that extra bit of thickness to your vocals on the stage, then the VoiceTone range should definitely be on your list of products to check out.
