Taylor Swift 'bought new Fender guitar by Jake Gyllenhaal'
He picked up the present for Swift's 21st birthday, splashing out around £7,000 for the high-end guitar, which has been signed by Chet Atkins, reports the Sun.
Gyllenhaal is said to have decided on the gift after the pair spotted the Fender guitar in a shop in Nashville.
"Taylor drooled over it so Jake went back to the shop later and bought it for her," said a source.
"He was originally going to buy it just as a gift but it ended up being perfect for her birthday on Monday."
Swift has a busy 2011 ahead of her, with the guitarist set to head out on a world tour in February.
She will play shows in Singapore, South Korea and Japan before making it to the UK towards the end of March.
The star is to perform in Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast and London during her time in this country.
Following those shows, she will then take part in an extensive tour of North America, with gigs already scheduled for Swift up until October.
