Technical problems hit Oasis homecoming gig

Oasis's much-hyped return to Manchester was fraught with problems last night, forcing the band to put down their electric guitars and abandon the stage.

Upon returning to the stage, guitarist Noel Gallagher promised that those in attendance would get a full refund on their tickets, which cost £45.

The band were able to carry on and complete the gig, playing songs such as Slide Away, Don't Look Back in Anger, Champagne Supernova and the Beatles track I Am The Walrus.

Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester after the gig, fans were content to accept the issues that had plagued the event.

"Okay, there were a few problems but they played some brilliant songs," one person commented.

Oasis will perform two more shows at Manchester's Heaton Park at the weekend, where they will no doubt be hoping for fewer technical difficulties.
