The Cribs 'planning to begin work on new album'
The Cribs are going to head into the studio to begin work on a new album later this year.
According to the band's official Twitter page, they are to play a number of festival shows over the course of the summer, with work on their fifth record scheduled to get underway after the live dates have been completed.
"Despite being on a break, The Cribs are not superhuman and still have to eat, therefore they will be playing a handful of summer festival shows," the electric guitar band explained via the social networking site.
Their first summer date has already been announced, with the boys set to take to the stage at the RockNess Festival in Scotland.
They will headline the tent at the bash on the Saturday (June 11th), a date which will also see performances from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Frightened Rabbit, Magnetic Man and Example.
Over the course of RockNess' three days, further sets will be played by Glasvegas, The Wombats, We Are Scientists and Simian Mobile Disco.
Kasabian are to headline the opening night of the event, with Paolo Nutini closing the show on the Sunday.
