The Cribs to play at Great Escape festival
One of the electric guitar's most famous proponents - former Smiths star Johnny Marr - will be appearing at this week's Great Escape festival in Brighton.
He will play on the NME stage at the event as part of The Cribs, whom he joined in 2008.
The Wakefield band has been added to the line-up and will play at the Corn Exchange on Thursday May 13th 2010.
Other acts appearing on the bill include Southend rockers These New Puritans alongside Canadian seven-piece Broken Social Scene and their compatriots Japandroids.
The Cribs were originally comprised of brothers Gary, Ryan and Ross Jarman, but were joined by Marr after he finished recording with US band Modest Mouse.
Other festivals on the band's agenda for this summer include Reading, Glastonbury and T in the Park.
Already this year the group have embarked on a worldwide tour, stopping off in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and India along the way.Posted on 11 May 2010 13:59 to category : Band / Celebrity News
