The Drums: We might leave guitars for next record

The Drums have said that they might put down their guitars for their next album and go for an electronic sound.

The Drums are known for making music that is guitar led, which is why news they might be putting down their music instruments for their third album will surprise fans around the world.

Speaking to NME, the indie-rockers, who recently said they hate U2 and Coldplay because they dabble in politics, revealed a never-seen-before experimental side could see them branch out into different genres of music.

Frontman Jonathan Pierce, who has admitted he is always miserable, said: "We might be going back to completely electronic music. But I don't want to make a big degree because we might end up breaking my own rules and end up looking like a fool.

"I wouldn't mind starting an Italo disco album or a cold wave one."

He added he had recently purchased a Korg PS-3100 synth, saying that it has changed his life as a musician.

The Brooklyn rockers release their much anticipated second studio album Portamento on September 5th.
