The Drums 'betrayed'
The Drums singer Jonathan Pierce said he feels "heartbroken" and "betrayed" by former guitarist Adam Kessler.
Adam quit the band last weekend, just two nights before they were due to tour the US, and Jonathan said he has had a lot of trouble coming to terms with his decision.
However, he added the ex-guitarist had always had differing views to the rest of the group - which also includes Jacob Graham and Connor Hanwick.
Jonathan told NME magazine: "He'd always spoken of a simpler life. For Jacob, Connor and I, we really don't have lives outside of this band.
"And the idea of having a simple life, I think, was something increasingly important to Adam. He called us at, like, 1am and just said he couldn't continue with this life anymore."
Adam has since been temporarily replaced by Tom Haslow, a friend of the band, but Jonathan said he is as present only a temporary member of the band, and that by the time the group tour Europe in November, they may even do so as a three piece.
He added that the group are still determined to carry on and plan to have their second album recorded by January next year.Posted on 23 Sep 2010 07:00 to category : Music News
