The Faces to make new LP?
The Faces are set to record new material.
Keyboard player Ian McLagan believes writing and recording fresh songs is the logical next step for the reformed band once they complete their US tour.
He said: "I think that would come as a natural progression. I've got loads of songs and they'd be very suited for The Faces."
Although new material is on the cards, Ian has promised fans coming to the gigs they will playing classic tracks.
Ian told Rolling Stone magazine: "We're mostly going to do old rockers like 'Miss Judy's Farm' and 'Stay with Me'."
The band are currently gearing up for their first tour since they parted ways in 1975, with fans set to see Simply Red star Mick Hucknall front the group, rather than original singer Rod Stewart.
Ian - who is joined in the band by guitarist Ronnie Wood, drummer Kenney Jones and former Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock - accepts fans will miss Rod, but he hopes people come to the shows with an "open mind".
He said: "Yeah they'll miss him - but he ain't going to be there! It's still The Faces. I just hope that people come with an open mind because one way or another they're going to be surprised."Posted on 28 May 2010 16:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News
