The Hurts' DIY video
The Hurts shot their 'Wonderful Life' video for just £20.
The British electronic duo- who had the track remixed by American producer and DJ Arthur Baker - revealed they shot the entire video themselves and paid a dancer they found in a Post Office just £20 to showcase her skills.
Synthesiser Adam Anderson told BANG Showbiz: "It was pretty DIY. We advertised in the Post Office in Manchester for a dancer and on the day of filming this girl was the only one to turn up and she just started dancing and it was incredible. So we managed to pay her £20. Job done.
"Money was a little bit tight because we were on the dole and it was half my allowance for the week, so I was kind of reluctant to even give her £20."
However the Manchester-born pair - who are set to release their first album 'Happiness' in September - admitted they have been unable to track down the dancer in question to thank her for her help.
Adam explained: "We can't find her. After the video she went missing and we can't get hold of her anywhere."
He went on to add that after speaking to legendary record producer Rick Rubin on the phone, he would definitely like to collaborate with the former Beastie Boy in the future.
He said: "After recording 'Wonderful Life' I worked at a dog track in Manchester, but we didn't have a record deal. Then we made the video and a few days later Rick Rubin rang me while I was working pulling pints. He was asking me all about the video - it was so surreal.
"To do a collaboration with him would be unbelievable."Posted on 12 Jul 2010 07:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
