The Kinks set for a reform

Lead singer Ray Davies has said he would be up for reforming the band.

Veteran electric guitar band The Kinks could be set to reform and go out on tour again.

Famous for songs such as Dedicated Follower of Fashion and You Really Got Me, the group have not played together for a number of years after brothers Ray and Dave Davies fell out.

While there has been talk of a reunion in the past, the chances look better this time after Ray told Rolling Stone magazine: "I hear that Dave is saying stuff in the press like, 'I'll do it, but Ray doesn't want to do it.' This is me saying, 'Ray will do it if Dave does it.'"

As well as showing his apparent willingness to get The Kinks playing again, Ray also revealed that Beady Eye are a outfit he is excited by.

Davies noted that the band knows how to make records that "sound exciting", while he also has a liking for Mumford and Sons - who he recorded a song with in 2010.

Having to some of the music the original line-up has made, he is really excited about the possibility of a comeback.
