The Libertines play impromptu gig in London
The Libertines have surprised journalists by strapping on guitars and playing an impromptu gig at a press conference in London.
They were meant to be talking about their reunion and upcoming festival appearances in Reading and Leeds this summer but instead interrupted the questions to play a few of their old hits at The Boogaloo pub, reports NME.
With drummer Gary Powell standing in the wings, Carl Barat, Pete Doherty and John Hassall picked up their guitars and launched into renditions of tracks such as Can't Stand Me Now, Music When the Lights Go Out and Time for Heroes.
The band also played a cover of Georgia On My Mind during the brief performance.
Other acts set to join The Libertines at Reading and Leeds include Blink 182, Arcade Fire, Guns N' Roses and Queens of the Stone Age.
The event takes place on the two sites between August 27th and 29th this year.Posted on 2 Apr 2010 09:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
