The Maccabees seen as guitar music innovators
Hailing from London, the indie band's critically acclaimed record Give To The Wild went straight in at number four.
Felix White, the band's guitarist, told the BBC that inspiration for the album and other songs can come from the most unlikely of sources.
"You can be watching TV with the guitar in your hand and inspiration will just happen," he said.
For their latest album, though very much based around their trusty stringed instrument, the band decided to work with the producer Tim Goldsworthy, who is known for having a background in electronic music.
"He wasn't from our guitar-rock, indie world and he saw something in the music beyond what we'd done before, so that gave us confidence," White told the news provider.
The Maccabees debut studio album was Colour It In (2007), which was followed up by Wall of Arms (2009).
