The Script 'more accomplished' for fresh LP
Speaking with the Gigwise website, the singer also suggested that the stories told by album #3's tunes – as well as the themes that are worked into them - will be familiar to those who have heard the band's earlier work.
"I guess they're a little closer to home," he added. "On the last few albums there was one or two songs where we had a kind of out-of-body experience when we were writing, but with this album it was very much personal as there was lots going on in all our personal lives to draw on."
The Script are planning some American gigs in the likes of St Louis, LA, New York and Houston next month.
They have enjoyed success with songs such as The Man Who Can't Be Moved and current Single Hall of Fame, while O'Donoghue himself has appeared as a coach on the BBC talent programme The Voice.
#3 contains numbers such as Broken Arrow, Moon Boots and No Words.
