The Stone Roses have held a press conference finally putting an end to all the rumours by officially confirming they are reforming.

Frontman Ian Brown, bass guitar player Mani, guitar player John Squire and the man behind the drums, Reni, sat together at an official press conference, full of smiles.

Brown said: "This is a live resurrection, and you're invited, so you'd better be there."

Unknown to the world, the band had already been jamming together before they confirmed what many fans and music insiders had hoped for.

Mani added: "Something magical happens when us four are in the room together, you can't put your finger on it. It's just beautiful to capture it again. I've missed it."

In typically outspoken fashion they were quick to attack the current state of popular music.

Brown described it as "boring, bland and corporate with nobody saying anything".

As to how long they plan on being a newly formed outfit, the band were open about the various outcomes that could be possible, after all, they did fall out acrimoniously the last time.

Even famous musicians have been gushing at the news of The Stone Roses reunion.

Liam Gallagher: "The Stone Roses getting back together – not been this happy since my kids were born."
