The Stones Roses set to headline Isle of Wight Festival 2013
The group will play the Friday (June 14th) night and are the first band to be revealed for the three-day festival on the island. It represents the iconic Madchester band's only UK festival appearance of 2013.
Despite limited homeland appearances The Stone Roses have a host of tour dates already booked for the summer with shows already penned in for London and Glasgow culminating in two nights at Finsbury Park and one show at Glasgow Green.
Ian Brown and co have also announced a one-off gig at the Media City Amphitheatre in Dubai for February 21st.
Tickets for the Isle of Wight Festival go on sale on Wednesday (November 28th) from isleofwightfestival.com.
Organisers of the event will be hoping there are not similar scenes to the 2012 show, when heavy rain turned the campsite into a mud bath and many music fans were left queuing for hours as cars got stuck in the wet ground.
No further news has been revealed as to what other bands will be performing at the summer festival.
