The Strokes and Noah & The Whale added to Radio 1's Big Weekend
Electric guitar bands The Strokes and Noah & the Whale have been added to the line-up for this year's Radio 1 Big Weekend.
The event will take place in Carlisle on May 14th and 15th and earlier this week it was confirmed the Main Stage will be headlined by Foo Fighters and Lady Gaga.
Radio 1 has now announced the In New Music We Trust Stage, with Swedish House Mafia top of the bill for the opening day of the event.
Other acts appearing here on May 14th include Friendly Fires, Panic! At The Disco, Everything Everything, Cage The Elephant and The Joy Formidable.
Meanwhile, the Sunday will see The Strokes top the bill, with earlier sets coming from the likes of Magnetic Man, Noah & The Whale, Two Door Cinema Club, The Vaccines and Pulled Apart By Horses.
The line-ups for the BBC Introducing and Outdoor stages will be announced before the end of the week.
It will not be the only festival appearance from The Strokes in the UK this year, as the electric guitar band have been booked as one of the headline acts for Reading and Leeds.
