The Strokes' laborious album
The Strokes' new album has been "a labour".
The American rockers - who began writing material for the record in January 2009 with the aim of releasing their follow up to 'First Impressions Of Earth' the same year - have been plagued by delays throughout the recording process, forcing them to push back the release date to March 2011.
Although creating the new album has been a long process, frontman Julian Casablancas admits the result has been "fantastic".
He told Xfm: "It's been a labour! It's all good. I was going to make a joke and say it was a labour of necessity, but no, it's going to be fantastic."
The lead singer - who has been touring his debut solo album 'Phrazes for the Young' during the band's hiatus - recently explained while the 'Juicebox' hitmakers have wanted to complete the new record for "months", other projects keep getting in the way.
He said: "We wanted to do it for months, or maybe a year now. And we keep thinking, 'OK, we'll do it, for like these three weeks and then we'll be done.' And then we do it and we decide that we're not done, or something comes in the way."Posted on 15 Jul 2010 16:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News
