The Strokes not planning immediate return
A band credited with fuelling the resurgence of electric guitar-based indie rock in the noughties is not planning to reconvene any time soon.
The Strokes enjoyed considerable success with their debut album Is This It, which NME recently named the album of the decade ahead of records such as Up The Bracket by The Libertines.
However, members of the group are currently pursuing a variety of solo projects and frontman Julian Casablancas is unsure whether a new album will be released next year.
"I really dig people remembering our first album and its figuring in these best-of-decade polls," he told the Scotsman.
"But sadly that's not going to get us back into the studio."
Casablancas released his debut solo album Phrazes for the Young on the Rough Trade label last month.
Lead single 11th Dimension was previewed on BBC Radio 1 in September, with DJ Zane Lowe naming it as his "Hottest Record" of the show.Posted on 9 Dec 2009 19:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
