The Strokes 'recording new album away from lead singer'
Electric guitar band The Strokes are working on their new album away from lead singer Julian Casablancas, the frontman has revealed.
Speaking to ABC News, Casablancas said that he would be adding his vocals later as he is too opinionated about how each song should sound.
"I'll hear a song and be like, 'Hmmm, it feels like the bass should be like something different'. Whereas if I feel like I wasn't in the room then they could just kind of spread their wings," he said.
The musician added that the new album is shaping up to have a similar feel to previous record First Impressions of Earth, albeit with a slightly more funky sound this time around.
Last month, Fabrizio Moretti, the man behind the drum kit in The Strokes, told the BBC that the band will start rehearsing for their festival dates this summer as soon as recording is finished on the new album.
The band are to play at the Isle of Wight and Rock Ness festivals this year.Posted on 24 Mar 2010 11:42 to category : Band / Celebrity News
