The Strokes return to London
Electric guitar fans had the chance to hear The Strokes for the first time in four years in London.
According to NME, the band took on the name Venison for last night's secret gig.
They did not play any new songs in the concert at the Dingwalls venue.
However, fans enjoyed 18 tracks taken from previous studio albums at the quintet's first London appearance since 2006.
These included Reptilia, Last Nite, New York City Cops and Red Light.
NME described how frontman Julian Casablancas had kept the atmosphere high at the gig, making antlers with his hands as a reference to their fake name and cracking jokes to the people in the mosh pit.
Fans who missed the gig can still see than this weekend at RockNess and the Isle of Wight Festival.
Other future dates for them include performing at the Austin City Limits music festival in Texas in October.
They will be playing live in Zilker Park.Posted on 10 Jun 2010 12:38 to category : Band / Celebrity News
