The Strokes reveal new album title is Angles
Indie stars The Strokes have revealed their new album is likely to be called Angles.
According to Rolling Stone magazine, the band have "tentatively" settled on this name, while their likely first single will be Undercover of Darkness.
Electric guitar player Albert Hammond explained the title of Angles is designed to reflect the feel of the new album, which is due to be released on March 22nd.
"It's what the record sounds like - it comes from five different people," he said.
The band have recently announced their first tour dates for 2011 - with shows planned in the US, Portugal, Spain and Japan - and Hammond Jr explained the group want to strike a balance between live shows and recording in the future.
"We want to come back strong but slowly, so we can grow live and also make new music. We want to release albums quicker," the electric guitar player stated.
It has been a struggle for the band to get this record finished, after one set of recording sessions with a producer were completely scrapped and they decided to complete the album on their own.
Angles will be a follow-up to 2006's First Impressions of Earth.
