The xx announce three unusual gigs
The band revealed the first three shows in a series of events entitled Night + Day which will be taking place across Europe during May and June 2013 including a performance at an abandoned theme park.
Dates include Jardim da Torres de Belëm, Lisbon (May 5th), Spreepark, Berlin (May 18th) and Osterley Park and House in London on June 23rd. The latter will represent The xx's biggest show to date with a capacity of 10,000.
Spreepark in the German capital is an abandoned theme park from the East Germany era and suffered a drop in commerce when the Berlin Wall came down in 1989 and was closed in 2002.
The band said in a statement: "Night + Day is a series of events, curated by us, to start in the summer of 2013. We searched high and low for unique and beautiful locations to stage these shows and picked the artists that we most respect and admire to join us."
The xx released their second album, Coexist, in September 2012 receiving rave reviews.
