The XX have revealed they have no plans to pick up their bass guitars, keyboards or drums to record a second album.

Speaking to NME, the group announced that they will not be rushed into creating a follow-up to their self-titled record.

Bass guitar player Oliver Sim told the magazine: "There is no plan to even put out a second album."

He added: "There's just a plan to start being creative again, with no big intentions …. We're going to write and record just for the love of it."

Before heading to the studio, the group will be performing on their tour of the US and Canada, which runs until October 8th 2010.

The band has built up a devoted following as a result of their first record and went on to win the 2010 Mercury Music Prize earlier this month, beating veteran electric guitar player Paul Weller to the top prize.
