Thin Lizzy, Korn and Alice Cooper join Download 2011 bill
A host of electric guitar bands have been added to the bill for the 2011 Download Festival.
Among the 20 new acts to be confirmed by the event's organisers are Thin Lizzy, Alice Cooper and Korn.
Rockers attending the bash can look forward to performances from the likes of Bullet for My Valentine, The Gaslight Anthem and Alter Bridge, while drum 'n' bass act Pendulum will also be in attendance.
In addition, Danzig, The Cult, GWAR and Master of Reality have all booked for the show.
All of the acts will join previously-announced headliners System of a Down and Linkin Park on the bill.
Organisers said the line up now includes everything from "chief heavyweights and major players of the international rock scene, classic rock heroes, acclaimed rock legends and innovators to the latest hotly-tipped acts emerging onto the scene".
Up-and-coming electric guitar bands who want a chance to join their heroes in playing at Download have been encouraged to enter a competition designed to find eight new acts for the event.
To qualify for entry into the Red Bull Bedroom Jam challenge, groups need to have at least one member who is under the age of 21.
