Thom Yorke performs new material at benefit gig
Electric guitar player and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke performed three new songs at a benefit gig in aid of the Green Party last night (February 25th 2010).
The show in Cambridge saw Yorke play a variety of his own solo material combined with Radiohead classics such as True Love Waits and Airbag.
Give Up the Ghost, The Daily Mail and Mouse Dog Bird were the three unreleased songs that he played during the performance, reports NME.
He also played a special beat-driven version of Radiohead number Weird Fishes.
"When I was a kid I used to go into a shop around here and switch on all the Casio keyboards," he told the crowd after performing the track.
"It sounded a little bit like this."
The aim of the gig was to help the electric guitar player's friend Tony Juniper, who is to stand as a Green Party candidate at the forthcoming General Election.Posted on 26 Feb 2010 13:17 to category : Music News
