Thousands attend London Drum Show
An estimated 2,000 people turned up to the London Drum Show over the weekend (September 4th and 5th 2010).
Official audience numbers for the conference have yet to be released, but MI-Pro reported that the crowds flocked to the Olympia venue to take a look at musical instruments and equipment from brands such as Yamaha and Roland.
Along with the drum kits, cymbals, percussion and accessories that were available to view, there were also live performances from the likes of Steve Gadd, Benny Greb and Ian Matthews.
Darren Power, a spokesman for Yamaha, said the event had captured the tight knit spirit of the drumming world.
"We all know each other, we all do similar things, it's a real community and when we get together, it's like old friends getting together," he stated.
According to a recent survey conducted by BBC Worldwide, seven per cent of boys want to learn how to play the drums.
