Thousands attend Stuart Cable's funeral
Thousands of people lined the streets of Aberdare yesterday (June 21st 2010) for the funeral of drummer Stuart Cable.
The former Stereophonics musician died earlier this month at the age of 40.
Cable's funeral featured hymns as well as performances by one of his favourite bands High Voltage, reports BBC News.
The service ended with the group playing a cover of AC/DC song Back in Black.
Kelly Jones, lead singer of the Stereophonics, said the funeral had been a fitting tribute to the life of the drummer.
"No one else could get a send-off like that," he stated. "It's hard to walk out crying when they are playing Back in Black."
Earlier this month, Manic Street Preachers released a statement expressing their sadness at Cable's passing and said his "gigantic personality" was reflected in his drumming.Posted on 22 Jun 2010 11:19 to category : Band / Celebrity News
