Tinie Tempah wants to inspire youngsters
Tinie Tempah wants to break the US market so he can "inspire" youngsters to work hard.
The British rapper - who had a number 12 hit with 'Written in the Stars' in America - is keen to succeed where his UK rap predecessors have failed so he can spread a positive message to budding young musicians.
He told BANG Showbiz: "It's very important for me to break the US market, it shows that British rappers can have the potential to do that - not many people have done it before and I want to work really hard and make it big time out there so young people can be inspired by me."
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old star - who's fans include Britain's Prince William - admitted while it would have been "an honour" to perform at the recent royal wedding, watching the nuptials from his hotel room was enough.
Speaking at Alicia Keys' 2011 Keep A Child Alive Black Ball at London's Roundhouse Theatre last week, he added: "Prince William actually came to a show of mine this time last year, and it was really, really good to see that. It's amazing that the power of music can bring people like us together.
"I was in Atlanta at the time of the royal wedding watching it all go on from the comfort of my hotel room, which was enough for me. It would have been an honour to perform but one of my best freinds in music, Ellie Goulding, did it, which is great."Posted on 20 Jun 2011 08:30 to category : Music News
