Tom Vek is back after five-year break
Tom Vek, who is known for his ability to play many music instruments, has explained that his long absence from the music industry wasn't intentional.
Speaking to NME, the 30 year-old revealed that the five year gap was a natural offshoot in wanting to develop a body of work that he was proud of.
He went on to say that he wouldn't have known what to have done differently to speed things up during the creative process, the magazine reported.
The London-born artist said: "It's necessary to be mysterious about your operations when they’re a mystery to you! I'm not trying to turn round and say it was all deliberate, but looking back, I want to be positive about the situation I’ve ended up in, so being the delirious optimist, I’ll say it was all deliberate."
Vek is a self-taught musician whose debut album We Have Sound was released in 2005. Such was his trendy popularity at the time he appeared on the hit TV show The OC, which became known for its use of up and coming bands at the fictional Bate Shop venue.
His new album Leisure Seizure will be released in September this year.
