U2 are the world's highest-paid music stars
U2 might be busy working on their Spiderman musical on Broadway, but that hasn't stopped the Irish rock stars from bringing in the money as they have once again topped the Forbes list of the world's highest-paid music stars.
Singer Bono and electric guitar player Edge may have temporarily put making new U2 music on hold as they have been busy working on Spiderman: Turn of the Dark, but the hard working musicians have continued to tour.
Forbes reported that the band earned over £121 million in 2010 alone.
Most of that was attributed to their worldwide tour known as 360 degrees, which, two years on, is still ongoing.
In an age where CD sales no longer bring in revenue like they used to and digital sales of music nowhere near lucrative levels, merchandise and huge tours has become the number one way of making money.
Pop titans Bon Jovi, who are also performing a similar world tour to U2, came in second place with earnings of £78 million.
The ever successful Elton John was third with £62 million.
The Spiderman musical finally debuted on Tuesday after months of drama that saw delays, issues with the script and problems with directors.
It was a typically star-studded event at Broadway, with Robert De Niro, Jay-Z and Matt Damon among the stars in attendance.
