U2 drop hint about Glastonbury appearance
U2 could be strumming their electric guitars on stage at Glastonbury if hints are to be believed.
The Irish band are heavily rumoured to play at the music festival next year, after having to drop out at this year's event due to a back injury suffered by lead singer Bono.
Speculation over the group's presence at Glastonbury 2011 began on Friday (October 1st 2010) when manager Paul McGuinness said on the band's official website: "Watch this space!"
Fans were advised to buy tickets for the 2011 festival, with McGuiness adding: "We're certainly excited about our plans for next year."
Music enthusiasts came out in force earlier this week, with all the tickets to Glastonbury selling out in just over four hours on Sunday (October 3rd).
Attendees were on the phone from 09:00 BST to get their hands on gig passes and many are likely to have been disappointed after the tickets sold out eight hours faster than last year.
