Unfinished George Harrison track completed
An unfinished song by electric guitar player George Harrison has been completed by a contemporary songwriter.
Beatles biographer Hunter Davies unknowingly had several lines of an incomplete Harrison song in his possession for over 40 years before he stumbled across the paper at his home.
Spencer Leigh of BBC Radio Merseyside later suggested that Wirral-based singer-songwriter Dean Johnson would be the right person to finish the track and put the proposition to him.
"I found it unbelievable, tremendously exciting and above all a complete honour," Johnson commented.
He added that Harrison was "obviously writing from the heart" when he composed the track, as the lyrics were "brutally honest".
This is not the first time that one of the Fab Four's songs has been completed after their death, as a posthumous George Harrison album - Brainwashed - was put together by Jeff Lynne and Harrison's son Dhani in 2002.
And in the 1990s, the three surviving Beatles added new words, music and instrumentation to demo recordings made by the late John Lennon.Posted on 2 Nov 2009 15:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
