Unreleased Hendrix recordings to go on sale
The 40th anniversary of the death of electric guitar legend Jimi Hendrix is to be marked with the release of two new live albums.
In 1967, the Fender Stratocaster player performed a set with The Jimi Hendrix Experience for French radio.
The professional quality recording has been bootlegged for many years, but has now been lovingly remastered and will be made officially available next year.
Another live gig from 1968, which features early performances of songs from the Electric Ladyland album, will also be released.
Hendrix is widely regarded as one of the greatest electric guitar players in rock history and interest in his music remains strong almost 40 years after his death.
Earlier this year, his sister Janie revealed that lots of unheard studio recordings made by the guitarist still exist.
She told the Gibson website that she plans to issue the unreleased masters every 12 to 18 months for the next decade.Posted on 15 Dec 2009 18:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
