Vaccines star: Dave Grohl inspired me to be a drummer
Pete Robertson, the man behind the drum kit in The Vaccines, has explained that one of his musical inspirations is Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.
Speaking to the Islington Tribune, the star revealed that Grohl's work on the sticks in Nirvana was one of the original reasons he decided to become a drummer.
"Nirvana basically changed my life as it did for most kids at that time - that was a proper landmark," Robertson said.
"Dave Grohl's drumming is brilliant but I think it was that whole band and that whole ethos they had that was so inspiring to people of that generation."
He added he is enjoying life in The Vaccines at the moment, with the hotly-tipped band set to tour the US with the Arctic Monkeys later this year.
Robertson said that while the group are extremely busy, their various commitments do not feel like work as they are achieving their dreams.
The Vaccines have a number of live dates lined up in the UK for this month, beginning with a show in Manchester on April 3rd.
Further gigs will take place in Bristol, Glasgow, London and Birmingham.
