Vampire Weekend confirmed for Eden Sessions appearance
Electric guitar band Vampire Weekend are to headline the first date of this year's Eden Sessions gigs.
The American group will play a show at the Eden Project in Cornwall on June 24th 2010, with support coming from Broken Bells, an indie-rock duo made up of James Mercer from The Shins and Brian Burton, who is better known as Danger Mouse from Gnarls Barkley.
Tjarko Wieringa, creative director of Eden Sessions, said: "We're thrilled to be welcoming Vampire Weekend back to Eden after they played such a magnificent set here two years ago."
Other acts appearing at the Cornish venue this year include acoustic guitar players Jack Johnson and Paolo Nutini, indie stars Doves and pop act Mika.
Vampire Weekend's show will be one of several festival dates for the electric guitar band in the UK this summer.
They are also scheduled to play at the Glastonbury, Rockness, T in the Park and Isle of Wight festivals this year.Posted on 22 Apr 2010 16:03 to category : Band / Celebrity News
