Vampire Weekend 'to bring out new material this year'
Vampire Weekend's frontman Ezra Koenig has revealed that the band will be bringing out new material later this year.
The electric guitar player told BBC 6 Music that the group began talking about their next record as soon as second album Contra was finished.
Vampire Weekend are touring that record around the world at the moment and Koenig said that was taking up much of the group's energy and time.
"Little by little we'll start to do stuff," the electric guitar player said. "We'll still be releasing music in other ways, we have a few little things we've worked on that'll come out this year."
Koenig added that he was "amazed" at the current success of Contra, which topped the album charts in the US and reached number three in the UK.
The band are set to play a series of dates in the UK this summer, with their scheduled appearances including the Glastonbury, Rockness and Isle of Wight festivals.Posted on 23 Apr 2010 13:50 to category : Music News
